1. Urban Sugar
Topping the list is Urban Sugar. Located at Congress Square Park, Eastern Promenade, the food truck, which offers doughnuts and more, is the highest-rated cheap food truck in Portland, boasting 4.5 stars out of 56 reviews on Yelp.
This spot was named by USA Today as one of best food trucks in the country for its "deliciously quirky treats." Look for the Ol' Blue Eyes, a bite-sized gourmet doughnut topped with lavender pastry cream, lemon curd and Nilla crumbles.
2. The SaltBox Cafe
Next up is East End's The SaltBox Cafe, situated at Eastern Promenade. With four stars out of 12 reviews on Yelp, the food truck, breakfast, brunch and New American spot has proven to be a local favorite for those looking for a low-priced option.
Radio station WJBQ highlighted this spot for offering some of the most "delicious-looking food in Portland right now." On the menu, look for lobster rolls, pulled pork sandwiches and classic grilled cheese sandwiches.
3. Love Cupcakes
Deering Center's Love Cupcakes, located at 48 U.S. Route 1, is another top choice, with Yelpers giving the affordable food truck 4.5 stars out of 13 reviews.
The Press Herald highlighted this spot for ushering Portland into the vegan food scene with its dairy-free cakes.
