Tide Song -10D
Tide Song -10D: A Spacious Apartment Escape in Bernard, Maine

Why Stay
Why Tide Song -10D
Bernard is one of those quieter corners of Mount Desert Island where the locals outnumber the tourists - a working harbor town without the Dock Square crowds. Tide Song -10D sits on the outskirts, a two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment designed for people who want actual space, a kitchen to cook in, and room to spread out without the hotel-room feel. It sleeps groups and families well, comes with free parking and fast WiFi, and welcomes pets. The reviews are sparse but emphatic: both guests gave it a perfect 10.
This is the kind of place you rent for a week in summer or fall, stock the fridge at the local market, and settle in. It's not a hotel with daily turndown service. It's a home away from home, and that's exactly the point.
Genuinely spacious, not a clever studio floor plan. Two bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a living room, and a kitchen that's actually equipped - not a kitchenette with a hotplate. One group stayed five nights in October and rated it a 10; a family of seven stayed seven nights in June and did the same. Space matters when you're traveling with more than two people, and this apartment doesn't make you feel cramped.
A real kitchen means real meals. Full-size refrigerator, oven, stovetop, dishwasher, microwave, toaster - you can cook breakfast, prep lunch, roast a chicken for dinner. The patio and barbecue extend the kitchen outdoors. If you're road-tripping the Maine coast and tired of restaurant markup, this is where you land.
Pet-friendly with free parking. Both huge if you're traveling with a dog or cat. Parking is free, plentiful, and on-site. No hunting for a spot on a side street or paying nightly rates.
Fast WiFi and good connectivity. 250 Mbps internet - faster than you'll find at most Maine inns. Cable TV, too, if you need it.

Seasons
When to visit
Summer (June–August) Peak season on Mount Desert Island. Everything is open - restaurants, shops, Acadia attractions. Expect crowds in Bar Harbor proper, but Bernard itself remains quieter. Water is coldish (55–60°F) but swimmable with a wetsuit. A family of four stayed in late June and gave the place a 10.
Fall (September–October) Shoulder-to-peak season depending on foliage timing. Cooler nights, fewer tourists than summer. A group stayed in mid-October and loved it - clear skies, small crowds, perfect temperatures for hiking. Leaf-peeping brings crowds mid-September through mid-October.
Winter (November–March) Quiet and cold. Many restaurants and attractions close or reduce hours. Acadia is still beautiful and nearly empty, but plan indoor activities too. Snowfall is moderate to heavy by Maine standards.
Spring (April–May) Muddy and rainy. Wildflowers bloom late May. Most seasonal businesses reopen by late May, but the weather is unpredictable.
Reviews
What guests say
We had an amazing time here with our extended group. Plenty of space, amazing kitchen, and everything we needed.
- Claire, United States · Group of 5+ · 10/10
Beautiful apartment with everything you need. Great location, relaxing. Highly recommended!
- Tiziana, Italy · Family · 10/10
The limited review pool reflects the property's niche appeal - it's a vacation rental, not a traditional hotel, so only guests who book it directly here tend to leave reviews on Booking.com. Both reviewers who did leave feedback were unequivocally satisfied, citing space, amenities, and the overall experience.
